As part of the Wheelie Big Challenge our Eco Team have been busy collecting data related to our recycling efforts.
They have also used Adobe Express to create recycling posters to be displayed on all of the bins throughout the school. Each poster includes a list of the relevant items that should be placed in each bin.
All children in school attended an assembly where the Eco Team revealed the results of Audit 1 and issued a class challenge to be the class with the least amount of dry recyclables to be found in the general waste bins.
Finally, the Eco Team collected the bins from the classrooms and completed Audit 2. They were delighted to see that there had been an improvement from waste Audit 1 with 39% less dry recycling items found in the general waste bins.
We also saw a food recycling % improvement of 50% ( Audit 1 had food recycling at 740g and audit 2 had food recycling at 370g).
