Due to not having a 'Harvest Festival' within school this year, we have decided to carry out some harvest related activities in our classroom. Below you will see pictures of our apple oxidation experiment. We learnt that apple oxidation occurs when the flesh of the apple makes contact with oxygen which turns the apple brown. Our findings were that the best liquids to prevent oxidation occurring are lemon juice and orange juice due to the vitamin C levels.
