Grateful Over Christmas Project
Wellbeing: Gratitude is an Attitude
Before Christmas P.4 thought about being grateful for what we have.
P.4 thought about a boy their age, called Martin. He lives in Uganda and we explored what his Christmas might look like - no snow, possibly one present (maybe none!) and a little extra rice instead of a full Christmas dinner! We read some of his letters and were surprised by how much he'd love to have more school, a warm, safe home like ours or even a second set of clothes. We wrote him a letter and are waiting for a response to lots of our questions.
I set P.4 a wellbeing task - challenging them to think about one moment they were truly thankful for this Christmas - being grateful for presents, family, time off, pets, snow... whatever stood out to them. Each pupil was asked to send in a photo or short video clip of that moment. This has been put together into a class video.
We want to have an 'Attitude of Gratitude' - being truly thankful for what we have (rather than jealous of what we don't have).
Hope you enjoy the video! 😁
