Getting Ready for Home Learning
4th May onwards
We will send you an email with instructions on how to access our Home Learning platform before 4th May. We have decided that we will not be using the website for this but will be using a platform called SeeSaw. We ask that once you receive your access code, you follow the instructions for access and then send your teacher a short message to let them know that you are ready. If you have any problems with this, please email the school address for help.
Teachers will put activities up on Mondays which will be scheduled for each day of the week. There will be activities for Reading, Spelling, Writing, Mental Maths and Maths tasks as well as pointing you in the right direction for Sounds in Focus, Bug Club, Accelerated Reader (older pupils) and Mathletics. There will also be some wellbeing activities and suggested project / topic work.
During Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, teachers will be preparing materials for the following week, preparing any answer sheets, analysing your child's work throughout the year and preparing their end of year report. We ask that you do the activities with your child and return them during the week, however, the teacher will only be able to respond to your work on Fridays.
As this is a new platform for us, I am sure there will be some teething problems. Ideally, we would have introduced this at a time when you were able to pop in and ask for help. Please do send an email if you have any queries. Someone will get back to you, usually within a day.
The School Website
We will continue to add whole school activities, photos and tasks to the website so please do keep popping on to have a look. We will upload the photos you send in and keep you updated with any news on the website.
The School App
We will continue to use the app to send messages to groups of parents. We will alert you through the app of any new items on the website. This remains the main communication tool with parents as a whole.
Emails
Individual contact with parents will be made by email.
The online platform
This will be the main communication channel for teachers and pupils. Work will be put up for children to tackle and send back to the teacher for comments.
We hope that these 4 methods of communication will be sufficient to get us all through this unusual time.
