Foundation Stage Homework Update
Homework will begin the week beginning 28th September. Homework will be set on 'Seesaw'. This is an app that will need to be downloaded. School will send more information and access codes in due course. All homework for the week will be available on the app on Monday afternoons. It should be completed by the Friday. Homework provides the opportunity for you to work with your child at home. Teachers will respond to homework tasks, via Seesaw, if necessary.
Children will be provided with a folder. This will be used to carry reading books to and from school. Please ensure the folder is wiped when you receive it and before you return it. Reading books will be sent home on a Monday and should be returned in the folder on a Thursday. Each child will progress at their own individual rate and reading books will be given when we feel they are ready. Reading groups are very fluid in Foundation Stage so please do not worry.
Weekly homework activities will include:
- 2 literacy activities (these may be written or practical)
- 2 numeracy activities (these may be written or practical)
- Daily Reading
- Sound card work
- High frequency word card work
Due to restrictions we cannot send home sound and word cards on a weekly basis. Therefore all cards will be sent home in October and should be kept at home. Please refer to the homework which will let you know which sounds and words to work on each week.
Thank you for your support.
